Along with the residential remodeling, we at KCC Inc. have been expanding our options to include commercial jobs with being certified as an EBE from the state of Wisconsin, city of Milwaukee, and county of Milwaukee. In the past 2 years we have been a sub contractor for Steven Construction out of Madison, where we built a 7 story apartment unit called the Hubbard St. Lofts. Along with this major job we sub contracted for Gorman and Company, Inc where we built a 4 story building called Dr. Wesley Scott Senior Living Community.

As a small company, most of our work is through word of mouth. Our goal is to make sure the quality of our work is the same quality we would expect in our own homes. By having our own crews, we have been able to not only meet our goal of maintaining a high level of quality, but we also maintain control over project completion times and also construction costs.

Meet Howard Kingman

I grew up working in my father’s cabinet shop, where I learned all aspects of the cabinetmaking trade. Once I was old enough, I went into the carpenters union, where I grew to become a journeymen carpenter. In 1981, I decided to strike out on my own, and started what has now become Kingman Custom Contractors, Inc., performing both carpentry and general contracting services. I incorporated in 1996, and obtained DBE status in 1998 from the State of Wisconsin, Milwaukee County, and the City of Milwaukee due to my Native American status. KCC employs 15 full time carpenters and laborers in the field, and a full time office manager. My staff and I have a wide range of construction talents, including wood and steel framing, insulation, drywall, installation and finishing, door and window installation, finish carpentry, custom cabinetry, and laminate work. We are also capable of creative design work, both in the office and on the jobsite, to create the exact look our customers are looking for.
